The Portrait of An Unknown Self

The wind blows and you look through the window
Your eyes meet a face you never seem to have seen before
A man with golden furrows, and a long flowing beard
Stooping forward beyond his age
He doesn’t seem to be someone you ever have gotten to know
He plods around as soon as you scuffle
But you are unperturbed, nothing bothers…… (for now)
Amid the crackling of the leaves, you hear a strange sound
You turn around but it is gone.
He returns, looks into your face
And his gaze is fixed on you
You watch, as his countenance fades to pale blue
A paleness even death would shudder to embrace
Slowly but certainly, a strange fear seems to have snaked in (My word)
You are dismayed, and start to see his pain
His brows sink, and form a wave as on an ocean shore
You move closer, and he seems to be fading out
You step up your pace and he seems to have disappeared!

You are crestfallen; on the ground; truth strikes,
Today was no better than yesterday.
You realize you have missed him again,
But you know this has been ever since you saw him first,
Your own self has eluded you…….

You wave goodbye…….”If this is death….it sure is familiar, than the one I never could know!”

The Woman...who could not be!

I could see he longing
In the mother’s misty eyes
As she though what the day held for her
There used to be dreams, so many dreams
She always saw for her little child
But she soon realized that “it” would die.

It’s all about love
And not ‘human sacrifice’
Of! Why cannot you see
Come on open up your eyes
To the ‘human sacrifice’
To the ‘human sacrifice’ of this girl child.

Ma, I wanted to bloom,
But you plucked me dry
Expecting a boy, rejecting a girl
Is it a womb or a bloody hell?

Pa, open up your eyes
Ma, feel me under your skin
I want love, I want to love
I want to live to see the day.

TM often says,“It takes more than your gonads to BE a "MAN" !” In the light of what TM says, does it really matter who is born? A Boy or a Girl...so far as "It's" born Living, and the parents have enough strength? Hush! I din't talk about money to raise "that" bundle up!
See I'm not a Feminist or A Male-Basher. I'm just being a social commentator. The world may seduce us to think that "times-are-a-changin' " but this vice still exists.

Bless you

P.S. Dave Barry, "If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infant's life, she will choose to save the infant's life without even considering if there are men on base."

Dying Hopes Undying Faith

Once I was young, a child of my age
no worries, no fear, of future or of passing days
but now I'm old and out of my shell
There's so much to change (around me)
'Cause it all feels like Hell!

Look! there he goes clawing his way up the ladder!

And Hey! what a mess!
Everyone's in a hurry to please each other.
I feel so alone in this race,
feel so alone, left out.
It's all a game of mind, no doubt!

There's so much to learn,
to live in this world today,
Huh! the 'Art of living', They say!
Why, I only want to live 'this' life,
Just like a child, I did years back.

Now Lord I ask you,
to give me a faith,
That's simple,
just like a babe.

Bless you
TM

Who said, "I'm Creative?"

Once, the famous Evangelist Dr. Billy Graham uttered these words, “Give me Genesis 1:1 and it doesn’t matter if the whale swallowed Jonah, or Jonah swallowed the whale!”
You may pass it off as a funny remark but in Dr. Graham’s words reverberates a powerful practical truth, and coming from a person, of his stature, who has proven this through his life well lived, sure attests the validity of this statement. In essence Dr. Graham says that he believes everything – E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G – that the Bible says is true, because he believes in the God of the Bible to be true, and this is all that makes the difference!

Over the years, in my own christian experience I have wondered and grappled with the question that, “How far can I believe the Bible and the claims It makes?!” And in retrospect, I have observed that all too often I picked and chose those parts of the Bible which suited "my" beliefs, rather than aligning myself to its’ trut. (Hey!! Not Anymore!!)
Moving a little further down if we take a closer look at Genesis 1, we find All-that-there-is-to-know, wrapped up nice and tight in a bundle in verses 26, 27 and 31. I quote it to you, “v 26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our own image, in our likeness……… v 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he made him; male and female he created them……… v 31(a) And God saw all that He had made and it was very good……..” (Emphasis mine). To come to think of this, it becomes imperative that we change – evolve -- transform and come to terms with the reality of our being and the reason for which we were created – to shadow His Creative flair in ALL we think and do!
Notice the cause-Effect relationship between vs. 26 and 27 shown in the use of these two phrases, “Then God said” (v 26) and “So God created” (v 27). What does all this show us? Doesn’t it tell us that it was a conscientiously thought action of the Godhead to “create” man in His own image?, That He was not coerced or cajoled by any angelic being?, That He was not lured by the idea of creating something to have fun with?, rather, purely out of His love and Creative Ability “He created them male and female.”

And to this day, us humans, we possess the creative ability of word, of thought, of action in our maleness and femaleness. The only difference between God and us, here, lies in the fact that God uses His creativity just like He did then, but we don’t use it ; maybe out of trepidation or sheer doubt, not in ourselves but conclusively in the Word of God, for so we prove by keeping away from the things of God, by not giving Him back what He has given us and by not developing new ideas he gives us, not only as a means to reach out to the needy and the shut-ins but also to strengthen the church-at-large.

There is nothing that God gave us which is second class but it is we who make it fall into mediocrity or immobility by not using it, or destroying its’ sanctity by using it for unholy purposes. We should remember that God pronounced Everything that He created as ‘Good’ and He wants us to use what He has given us to shine His light just as those who have walked this path before us have done.So let us pull the blankets off our minds and be creative in every way “to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
God bless you All!
Bless you
